Advantages and Disadvantages of Electropolishing
Advantages of electropolishing:
1. Electropolishing can process parts and products with complex shapes and small size, and the surface roughness is good.
2. The polishing time is short and the production efficiency is high.
3. The surface roughness that can be achieved by electropolishing is related to the original surface roughness, which can generally be improved.
4. The polished surface will not produce a metamorphic layer and no additional stress.
5. Increase the corrosion resistance of the workpiece surface and can be applied to all stainless steel materials.
Disadvantages of electropolishing:
1. The quality of electropolishing is related to the specifications of the electrolyte and the current and voltage. Improper parameter selection will lead to poor polishing effect.
2. The principle and process of electropolishing determine that its electrolyte needs to be replaced regularly, and the waste liquid generated during the polishing process is difficult to treat.
3. Electropolishing has certain requirements on the shape and size of parts and products, and is not suitable for processing all types of parts and products.
